Pat O Driscoll Plant Hire Ltd is always working to comply with the requirements, of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and applicable regulations made there under and other applicable legislation.
Since Joined the Safe-T-Cert safety management system in 2014 & awarded a (IOSH) Safe-T-Cert accreditation it has been a huge step forwarded in the Management of safety and compliance .
Safe-T-Cert is a certification scheme designed for certifying the Safety Management Systems of contractors working in the construction industry. The Scheme’s objective is to improve health and safety management by providing objective standards and certifying those contractors whose safety management systems have been assessed, meet the requirements for training and competence, demonstrate the implementation of an occupational health and safety management system which meets the requirements of Safe-T-Cert standard – incorporating continual improvement and addresses relevant national legislation.

Pat O Driscoll Plant Hire Ltd will dedicate adequate resources to ensure the Safety Health and Welfare of its employee, employees of other companies and other people affected by the company’s operations.
Do all that is necessary to observe and comply with the requirements ,of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and applicable regulations made there under and other applicable legislation.
All personnel employed by the company have a responsibility and obligation to comply with the requirements of this policy in achieving a safe place of work and to take reasonable care of themselves, and others, which may be affected by their work.
The company aims too always:
To provide and maintain and manage a safe and healthy working environment, safe equipment and safe systems of work for all employees and others.
To conduct risk assessments and take into account the general principals of prevention when implementing safety, health and welfare control measures necessary to reduce risk.
To provide information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary so as to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of its employees while at work.
To ensure the prevention, of improper conduct or behaviour of its employees at work as far as is reasonably practicable.
To prepare and maintain adequate procedures and plans to be followed in any emergency.

Pat O Driscoll Plant Hire Ltd is committed to protecting the natural resources we use and reducing our environmental footprint with the ultimate goal of having a net-neutral impact on the planet. We have focused our environmental sustainability efforts on water, energy and solid waste, areas where we can make the biggest impact.
We recognise that our operations may directly affect the local, natural and human environment, we endeavour to maintain the highest environmental standards in all our activities. The company is committed to complying with environmental legislation, preventing pollution and continual improvement.
Our company consistently seeks to increase our employee’s awareness of our aim to conserve and where possible, recycle all waste materials. This is achieved by segregation at source, provision of lay down areas for specific wastes, such as building rubble, timber, glass and plastic.
We are fully aware as a company of the advantages of minimising our waste output.
We design for the efficient use of materials and energy and where a choice exists specify only these construction materials which are environmentally benign and naturally sustainable.
To facilitate the implementation of this policy the company has established a waste management procedure for each site, which will be included in the Safety & Health Plan and will be brought to the attention of all on site users.
